ColSpec® An Innovative Microplastics Detection System for Environmental Studies

About LightForm and ColSpec®

ColSpec hardware
ColSpec® MK2
Overview LightForm, Inc was founded in 1996 by Jeremy Lerner, to design, develop and bring to market, new approaches to “target” recognition using spectral and hyperspectral imaging instruments. LightForm was the proud recipient of three National Institute of Health, SBIR grants. These awards funded the development of the PARISS® Analytical Hyperspectral Imaging system. PARISS was formally introduced to the market at the Pittsburgh Conference in 1998. PARISS can now be found in routine use in bio-research, medical, physics, chemistry, and industrial laboratories throughout the world. Applications using PARISS have appeared on the covers of four journals. The development of ColSpec was the result of nearly 30 years of experience in “target” recognition using spectral signatures. LightForm develops the algorithms and writes the software to make ColSpec an effective, user friendly tool. ColSpec software measures the size and abundance of environmental microplastics such as those found in our oceans, rivers, lakes, and sanitation. .
